On February 6, 2023, two devastating earthquakes with 7,8 and 7,6 magnitudes hit southeastern Turkey and northwestern Syria, claiming the lives of at least 59,259 people in both countries, leaving deep scars on the lives of 15 million people.
Doctors of the World Turkey has been on the ground since day one to respond to the needs of the affected populations in Hatay, Izmir, Aleppo, and Idlib.
Through its mobile medical units, health centers, and woman & child-friendly safe space, Doctors of the World Turkey has provided so far:

- Medical consultations to 30,000 earthquake survivors
- 5,000 sexual and reproductive health services
- Psychosocial group sessions with the participation of 7,100 individuals
- Mental health sessions to 600 people
- 245,000 curative consultations to approximately 165,000 Internally Displaced People (IDP)
- 30,000 hygiene and maternity kits
