Doctors of the World invites you to explore the many ways to support our lifesaving mission

Online Donations

Our secure online donation page is the most direct way for your gift to have an impact, please click here to make a donation now and you will receive an automated acknowledgement email which you can save for tax purposes.

Donations by Mail

You can also mail your donation to us at Doctors of the World, 222 Broadway FL 19, New York, NY 10038 and you will receive an acknowledgement letter in the mail which you can save for tax purposes.

Monthly Giving

Monthly gifts are the most efficient way to ensure that Doctors of the World has the resources needed to prepare for and respond to current and future crises.  For example, a monthly gift of $15 or $25 will provide $180 or $300 annually and will be automatically charged to your credit card or bank account, and can be adjusted or suspended at any time.  You only need to set up your payment once, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Other Ways to Give

Leave a legacy of compassion

When you create a planned gift for Doctors of the World through your estate, you help us provide emergency and long-term medical care for the world’s most vulnerable people of today and tomorrow. We invite you to leave a legacy of compassion by considering naming Doctors of the World as a beneficiary in your will.

Charitable giving can include assets such as retirement accounts, paid-up life insurance, or appreciated securities. Donors can assign a specific asset, portion of an asset or specific amount. Please consult your financial professional to create your plan or contact us at legacies@doctorsoftheworld.org

Tribute Giving

Looking for a meaningful way to honor a loved one’s memory or to commemorate a holiday, birthday, wedding, or other special occasion? Tribute gifts are unique expressions of thoughtfulness and the perfect way to celebrate a loved one while supporting the life-saving work and mission of Doctors of the World.

  • Receive a tribute gift receipt on the donor’s behalf

Donate stocks

Appreciated securities are perhaps the most cost-effective and simple way to support the lifesaving work that Doctors of the World teams are doing every day.

It also offers you a number of financial benefits: When you transfer ownership of long-term holdings to the Doctors of the World, you receive a charitable deduction for their full market value—and you incur no capital gains tax (subject to IRS deduction limits). Because the donor’s information in electronic transfers are not always complete, please alert us in advance about the stock and number of shares you plan to give.

Donor-advised funds

Donor Advised Funds (DAF) and community trusts are the fastest-growing giving method and tax-efficient way to manage charitable donations. Donor Advised Funds allow donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants from the fund over time.

Grants made to Doctors of the World through DAF can be designated to use wherever the need is greatest or aligned with thematic areas that match our supporters’ interest. For more information on how to establish a DAF, contact your local community foundation or financial advisor.

Donate your royalties

By donating your residuals and royalties to Doctors of the World, you’ll be joining our teams in the critical, rapid-response work they do every day in over 60 countries around the world.

Corporate giving

We offer many ways for your company to join us through strategic partnerships, corporate grants, workplace giving, consumer activation, and employee engagement. Please contact us at corporate@doctorsoftheworld.org to discuss partnership opportunities with us and discuss how your business can make a difference.

Matching gifts

You can support the important work of Doctors of the World as an employee. Matching gifts and workplace giving programs can double or triple your donation. These programs give our teams more of the resources they need to act fast and save lives. Some company programs even match donations made by spouses, retirees, and board members. Please contact your payroll department to learn more about the program in place in your organization.

In-kind donations

In-kind contributions are donations of goods, services or time, instead of cash. Tangible goods include things like equipment and medical supplies. Doctors of the World solicits and accepts gifts that are consistent with its mission and that support its core programs, as well as special projects.

As part of our response to COVID-19, Doctors of the World encourages in-kind contributions of personal protective equipment (PPE). PPE is used every day by healthcare personnel to protect themselves, patients, and others when providing care. PPE helps protect healthcare personnel from potentially infectious patients and materials. PPE shortages are currently posing a tremendous challenge to healthcare systems around the world. Healthcare facilities are having difficulty accessing the needed PPE and are having to identify alternate ways to provide patient care. Please contact us at corporate@doctorsoftheworld.org to further discuss in-kind donations.

Amazon Smile

Amazon Smile is an initiative launched in 2013 by the world’s largest online shopping website, Amazon. Amazon Smile is a charitable initiative that allows customers to choose an organization to support with each purchase. By supporting Doctors of the World through Amazon Smile, Amazon will donate 0.5% of your purchase price to our organization.
