ALERT: The situation in Burkina Faso is rapidly deteriorating
Today marks the 19th World Humanitarian Day.
On this special day, we interviewed Gareth Crawford, an experienced humanitarian aid worker and current board member of Doctors of the World USA. Gareth has over 15 years of experience leading programs and operations in the health, nutrition, education, food security and livelihoods sectors. He is a great representation of the millions of amazing humanitarian workers that dedicate their lives to improving the health and well being of vulnerable populations.
As conflicts and climate change continue to create humanitarian crises, it is important that we reflect on how we support the individuals that put themselves at risk to help others. We must not only ensure the safety and security of humanitarian workers, but also make sure that we listen to what they are telling us, so that we can properly support them and their work.
Listen to Gareth Crawford’s past experience to see how they have shaped his life and how that reflects in his decisions as a board member of Doctors of the World USA.
