Make a Lasting Impact Through Strategic Giving

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is one of the easiest and most tax-efficient ways to support the causes you care about. By recommending a grant from your DAF to Doctors of the World USA, you help deliver essential healthcare to people affected by conflict, disasters, displacement, and other humanitarian crises around the world.

What Is a Donor-Advised Fund?

A Donor-Advised Fund is a charitable giving account established through a sponsoring organization, such as a community foundation or financial institution. When you contribute to your DAF, you may be eligible for an immediate tax deduction (subject to applicable tax laws). You can then recommend grants to qualified nonprofit organizations like Doctors of the World USA whenever it makes the most sense for your philanthropic goals.

Many donors choose DAFs because they offer flexibility, simplicity, and an organized way to manage charitable giving over time.

Why Give Through Your DAF?

Giving through your Donor-Advised Fund can help you:

  • Support humanitarian healthcare wherever the need is greatest.
  • Make charitable giving part of your long-term financial and philanthropic planning.
  • Maximize your tax benefits. As soon as you make a charitable contribution to your DAF, you can be eligible for an immediate tax deduction. Those funds can be invested tax-free, and you can make donations to your causes at any time.
  • Recommend grants at any time throughout the year.
  • Donate cash, appreciated securities, or other eligible assets to your fund.
  • Design an investment strategy that could increase the amount that you have available for future giving.
  • Simplify your record-keeping by managing charitable giving through one account.
  • Create recurring grants that provide reliable support for our ongoing programs and emergency responses.
  • Involve your family in creating a lasting charitable legacy.
