Margaret Larson is an accomplished executive with nearly 30 years of experience in emergency management and strategic leadership. Currently, she serves as Senior Vice President of Operations and Client Services at AG Witt, LLC, a startup emergency management consulting firm. Previously, Margaret held various influential positions, including Legislative Assistant in the U.S. Senate and leadership roles at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), where she contributed to Congressional Affairs and served as Executive Officer in the Response Division. Margaret has also been a Deputy Director of Disaster Services for Feeding America and spent the last decade with national consulting firms.
Throughout her career, Margaret has developed and implemented comprehensive strategies by collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private sector entities. Margaret’s expertise in grants management, procurement compliance, and disaster readiness has made her a sought-after advisor and speaker for national organizations representing states, counties, cities, hospitals, and universities. In addition to her professional roles, she chairs the Cost Recovery Caucus for the International Association of Emergency Managers and serves as a Fellow to the Institute for Sustainable Development.
