Right now, thousands of lives are at risk from an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). And this virus is not the only threat to them. Aside from the DRC already being unstable and rife with ongoing humanitarian conflicts, several people already suffer from cholera, malaria, malnutrition, and other conditions that put them at a higher risk for contracting Ebola and dying from it. While NGO’s divert their resources to stop the spread, our experts remain with these patients fighting for their lives.
Doctors of the World has launched highly effective community-level psychosocial support initiatives and are training local health center staff to respond to the ongoing crisis. And we are treating people to improve their ability to resist infection.
We’re counting on you this Giving Tuesday to help us save innocent men, women and children from the killer grip of Ebola, malaria, cholera, and a host of other killer sicknesses. Give now to support us as we fight this savage epidemic.
